UFC President Dana White praises ‘brilliant’ Joe Rogan
In the opinion of UFC President Dana White, Joe Rogan is the best to ever sit behind the UFC commentary booth, and a major driver of the UFC’s success.
The UFC President heaped praise on the long-time UFC color commentator in a recent interview with Barstool Sports
“When you talk about talent, he’s the best ever,” White said of Joe Rogan (via MMAMania). “Part of the reason we’ve grown so fast is because Rogan’s ability to walk you through what’s going on while it’s happening. He’s brilliant, he’s so good, and he’s so passionate about the sport. You feel it when you’re watching. This isn’t a guy who’s just there for the paycheck, this is a guy who loves this stuff. We didn’t pay Rogan the first 12 events he worked, he did them for free. He’s got a great voice for it too, his voice is great.”
Joe Rogan has been working for the UFC since 1997. Initially, he served as a backstage interviewer for the promotion, but quickly moved into a color commentary role. He has worked for the promotion ever since, and has become as much a part of big UFC cards as the Octagon itself.
Speaking on a recent episode of his Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan opened up on the amount of fights he actually watches day-to-day. No surprise, it’s a lot — so much so that he has a hard time remembering anything but fights.
“If you talk to my wife and ask her what she told me about 10 minutes ago, I will not remember what the f**k she said,” Rogan said, explaining how much space fighting takes up in his brain. “There’s a lot of s**t I don’t remember. But I have like storage units [for fights] in my brain.”
