UFC releases first quarter schedule for 2019
The Ultimate Fighting Championship revealed it’s first quarter event schedule for 2019 during last night’s UFC 230 broadcast.
The first show of the 2019 calendar year takes place January 19 event in Brooklyn, New York. The historic event will be the UFC’s first fight card to air on EPSN and ESPN+.
The following weekend, January 26, the promotion will hold it’s first pay-per-view event of 2019 in the form of UFC 233.
The pay-per-view event (UFC 233) takes place live from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
A super-fight between current UFC champions Henry Cejudo (flyweight) and T.J. Dillashaw (bantamweight) is rumored to be in the works for UFC 233. With that said, no official announcement has been made by the promotion.
In addition to January’s UFC 233 fight card, the UFC will also hold pay-per-view events in Australia and Las Vegas during the first quarter of 2019.
UFC 234 takes place February 9, with the “down under” location still to be determined by the promotion. The pay-per-view event is expected to be headlined by a middleweight title fight between reigning champ Robert Whiitaker and top contender Kelvin Gastelum.
On March 2, 2019 this promotion will return to Las Vegas for UFC 235. That pay-per-view event could potentially be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar.
