UFC veteran Norman Parke ‘sick of how this game works,’ retires from MMA

Norman Parke, a veteran of the UFC, KSW, BAMMA and Brave CF cages, has decided to call it a career — at least tentatively.

Parke announced his retirement from MMA on Twitter, explaining that he’s become “sick of how this game works.” That being said, he added that he does plan to partake in a bareknuckle bout in the United Kingdom later this year, and could end his retirement from MMA should the right offer come across his desk.

Long regarded as one of the top lightweights in Europe, Norman Parke is currently a strong 25-6 overall. His only losses have come to top-flight foes in Joe Duffy, Gleison Tibau, Francisco Trinaldo, Rustam Khabilov and Mateusz Gamrot. Of those men, only Duffy was able to finish Parke.

Over the course of his impressive career, Parke has picked up wins over notable opponents like Colin Fletcher, Kuzuki Tokudome, Jon Tuck, Naoyuki Kotani, Reza Madadi, Paul Redmond, and Łukasz Chlewicki.

If this is indeed the end for him, he deserves praise for a truly impressive career.
