USADA imposter steals Dan Ige’s blood

By Drake Riggs - April 18, 2019

Well… It isn’t every day that one gets their blood stolen. But apparently, if you’re a UFC fighter like Dan Ige, it’s definitely a possibility.

Dan-Ige

The top featherweight prospect shared early Thursday that he received a visit from USADA… Or at least so he thought…

“So pissed off someone came over this morning I thought it was @usantidoping @USADA_UFC they took my blood and everything and come to find out these people went to the wrong house address and did not work for usada WTF!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬

“I’m so mad, and sure of this is my fault… When someone rings your doorbell six times at 6:30 AM saying they’re here to take your blood I was just cooperating thinking it’s USADA now I probably have aids” Ige’s tweets read.

Here’s to hoping that Ige does not now have AIDS.

For the 11-2 Ige, he currently rides an ultra-impressive three-fight winning streak that’s seen him score big quick victories over Mike Santiago (50-second TKO) and most recently, Danny Henry whom he submitted in a minute and 17 seconds at UFC London last month.

Ige entered the UFC following his performance on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series season 1 when he defeated Luis Gomez via third round submission (rear-naked choke).

As for what’s next for the Hawaii native, it’s looked like there’s been talk of a bout with Arkansas’ finest, The Ultimate Fighter season 28 alum, Bryce ‘Thug Nasty’ Mitchell. Whether or not that fight will come to fruition remains to be seen.

In the end, hopefully, none of these odd encounters with blood thieves continue for UFC athletes who are just looking to submit their mandatory USADA testings at random timings. As obviously, that can be problematic in rare instances.
