VIDEO | Conor McGregor meets Irish boxing champ Katie Taylor in Boston
Former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor is currently on tour across the United States, promoting his new Proper No. 12 Irish whiskey and taking in the sites. During a recent stop in Boston, the Irish MMA star attended the latest fight of Irish boxer Katie Taylor.
Shortly after Katie Taylor defended her WBA and IBF lightweight titles with a lopsided unanimous decision defeat of Cindy Serrano, she met with McGregor backstage. The pair exchanged a few laughs and well-wishes, and of course, posed for some pictures.

“It’s an honor to see you live,” McGregor told Taylor post-fight. “You can see it in your eyes when you’re in there. Just keep doing your thing. I have your back all the way. I’ll back you, whatever you need. Honestly, it’s an honor for me to come and see you live. You’re an Irish hero.”
“I’m proud of you and who you are as a woman,” he added. “Not just as a boxer. Inside the ring of course, but outside the ring as well I have a lot of respect for you. You do your own thing.”
At present, it’s not known when or even if Conor McGregor will fight again. While the Irish MMA star has expressed interest in a rematch with UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, UFC President Dana White has been noncommittal, suggesting the next title shot will probably go to former interim champion Tony Ferguson.
Katie Taylor, meanwhile, could return to the ring on December 15 in New York City, where should would fight on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez’s fight with Rocky Fielding. It’s also possible she fights the following week inside London’s O2 Arena. Time will tell.
