VIDEO | Former UFC heavyweight saves woman from assault outside nightclub
A former UFC heavyweight made headlines this weekend after saving a woman from an assault outside of a nightclub in Saravejo.
Denis Stojnic (13-3 MMA), who competed under the UFC banner on two occasions in 2009, rescued a woman from an assault which was taking place just outside Stonjic’s nightclub, the Dorian Gray in Saravejo.
As seen in the above video, a man wearing a yellow jacket is seen chasing down a girl who was leaving the night club.
The man proceeds to get physical with the woman almost immediately, dragging her by the hair behind a parked vehicle.
The assault continued until Denis Stojnic proceeded to exit the club and noticed the altercation taking place.
Denis immediately rushed over and pulled the low life away.
Stojnic later spoke with RT about the incident.
“When I saw on my video controller, Dorian Gray, that a huge man even proportions physically higher than me, striking a female person with a fisted fist, I immediately ran out and reacted so that they were protected from the perpetrators,” Stonjic said through a translator. “I conquered it and finally we accompanied the girl along with her security to a taxi, and she did not want to report this case to the police. Unfortunately, in our country violence against women is becoming more and more and my duty as a man, a citizen, and then only owners of objects is that everyone in my facilities feels safe, especially women.”
Denis Stojnic went 0-2 in the UFC suffering stoppage losses to Stefan Struve and Cain Velasquez respectively.
“The Menace” finished his career on an impressive eight-fight win streak, his latest being a second-round TKO victory over Christian M’Pumbu at Hit FC.
While Denis Stojnic may not have had any historic moments inside the octagon, he certainly proved to be a hero this weekend.
