VIDEO | Joe Rogan makes his pick for ‘the best women’s MMA KO ever’

Over the years, we’ve seen women produce some pretty jaw-dropping knockouts inside the cage. There were Holly Holm’s knockouts of Ronda Rousey and Bethe Correia. There was Jessica Andrade’s knockout of Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Most recently, there was Amanda Nunes’ first-round knockout of Cris Cyborg.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience MMA Show, UFC commentator Joe Rogan made his pick for the best knockout in the history of women’s MMA.

“Until Amanda knocked out Cyborg, [Holly Holm] had the greatest highlight reel KO in a championship fight,” Rogan said. “Well… In a championship fight. I think that Jessica Andrade, when she knocked out Karolina Kowalkiewicz, that was a bigger knockout than Holly Holm’s.”

“Well, not bigger,” Rogan back-tracked. “But it was right up there.”

While Joe Rogan has been impressed by the handiwork of Holly Holm and Jessica Andrade, he feels that no women’s MMA knockout holds a candle to Amanda Nunes’ execution of Cyborg.

“Amanda just took the f**king cake,” Rogan said. “She’s like ‘you think you saw the best women’s MMA KO ever? Hold my beer’. Cause it’s who she did it to. It’s everything.”

Nunes’ coach Din Thomas, who was the guest on this episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, admitted that even he was surprised to see his fighter deliver such a devastating knockout of Cyborg.

“I was surprised,” Thomas said. “As much as I love Amanda — I hold her dear to my heart — I was even surprised.”

Joe Rogan then summed up Nunes’ fearsome power with a vivid metaphor.

“She throws bricks,” he said of the two-division champ. “You know what she’s like? She’s like a bowling ball at the end of a rope. BOOM.”

Do you agree with Joe Rogan on this one? Is Amanda Nunes behind the best knockout in the history of women’s MMA?
