Video: Nate Diaz releases training montage filmed for UFC 230
Former UFC lightweight title challenger Nate Diaz was expected to square off with Dustin Poirier at UFC 230 this past November in New York.
Unfortunately for fight fans, “The Diamond” suffered an injury in the lead up to the fight, which ultimately forced him to be pulled from the card.
Following the fight cancellation, many pundits shared the opinion that Nate Diaz “wasn’t going to fight” anyway.
Well that theory was recently shattered when Nate Diaz took to his official Instagram with the following video showcasing his training for his slated UFC 230 bout with Poirier.
“A little footage from my last fight before my opponent bitched up…#Champlife,” Diaz captioned the post.
Nate Diaz has not stepped foot inside the octagon since suffered a controversial majority decision loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 202 in August of 2016.
According to UFC President Dana White, “The Stockton Slugger” has been offered multiple fights by the promotion, but has turned all of them down.
As for Dustin Poirier, the streaking lightweight contender will now take on current featherweight champion Max Holloway for the promotions interim lightweight title at UFC 236 on August 13 in Atlanta.
While Nate Diaz and the UFC can’t seem to come to terms on his next fight, there is no denying that youngest Diaz is brother was clearly taking his proposed UFC 230 bout with Dustin Poirier very seriously.
