Many people were interested to hear what UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor felt about his punishment handed to him by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his involvement in the UFC 202 pre-fight press conference water bottle war against Nate Diaz and his team.

Initially after the hearing, “The Notorious” tweeted, “I get fined more than these bums get paid.”

It seemed like the UFC featherweight champion was going simply eat the $150,000 fine and 50 hours of community service handed to him. However, UFC President Dana White said on “The Herd” on Wednesday that Conor McGregor was really upset with the sanction from the NSAC and told him that he never wanted to fight in Las Vegas again.

TMZ caught up with White following the news and talked about the situation involving “The Notorious.”

“If you threw a water bottle and you got fined $150,0000, would you fight there again? If you threw a water bottle and they fined you $25,000, that’s a lot of money,” White told TMZ. “That’s a lot of money.”

White was asked if he was in McGregor’s situation if he would still fight in Las Vegas.

“I would not,” White stated. “That guy [McGregor] can fight in Iowa and sell tickets. He can fight on an island off the coast of Peru and sell tickets.

“Las Vegas needs him. He doesn’t need Las Vegas.”

TMZ clarified with White and asked that he backs up McGregor for not wanting to fight in Las Vegas again.

“Yeah, everybody does,” White said. “I don’t think anybody disagrees with that.

“Throwing a water bottle and you get fined $150,000 — for a water bottle. That’s crazy.”

White managed to put up with the interview but gets a bit irritated with the TMZ’s position on a few things including McGregor’s stance on fighting in Las Vegas and Ronda Rousey’s comeback as you can in the video below.

What are your thoughts on Conor McGregor’s $150,000 fine? McGregor’s manager stated in a recent interview with ESPN that the NSAC could have gone as far as to suspend McGregor and fine up to 100% of his $3 million UFC record-setting disclosed fight purse for UFC 202. In the end, the NSAC agreed on 5% of the fight purse, which came out to $150,000.
