Daniel Cormier: “I made a lot of mistakes” in first fight with Jon Jones

We are nearly one month away from Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier’s highly anticipated rematch for the UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 197 on April 23rd.

This time however, things are different. Jones is walking into the fight as the challenger for the first time since 2011, whereas Cormier will be walking into the bout as the champion despite losing the pair’s first meeting at UFC 182. Recently however, at the UFC ‘Unstoppable’ Press Conference Jon Jones carried one of his past UFC light heavyweight championship belts to the press conference despite no longer being the champion.

In the interview above, Cormier explains what went wrong in his first fight with Jones, and why he is confident that things will go different this time around.
