MUST SEE! Extended footage of Conor McGregor’s MMA Awards acceptance speech blasting Frankie Edgar and Nate Diaz!
Apparently there was more to UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor’s acceptance speech at the the 2016 World MMA Awards in Las Vegas. If you haven’t already seen “The Notorious” give his pre-recorded acceptance speech for the Fighter of the Year award, he roasts UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum for pulling out of his title fight due to injury.
The additional footage of “The Notorious” one’s acceptance speech took direct digs at former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and UFC veteran Nate Diaz. Both men have tried their best at campaigning for a fight with McGregor.
“The who’s who of MMA I’m sure is there in their badly fitted suits, having a penny in their pocket,” McGregor said in his speech. “I heard Nate Diaz couldn’t even afford to fly over to Las Vegas for the ceremony. Frankie Edgar . . . I heard he’s dressed like a little Sheikh servant or something struggling to make a few quid.
“I’d love to be there to see it all, but unfortunately, I’m out here grinding, hard works pays as you can tell. By looking at the numbers I’ve brought in, by looking at everything that is going around, by looking at the boss man saying the first UFC fighter in history to make a hundred million.”
McGregor went on to talk about fight money, with all signs pointing to Nate Diaz’s last fight compensation.
“Hard work pays so take notes,” McGregor said. “Stop holding bitterness deep in your bum soul. Stuck on 20,000 to show and 20,000 to fight. I wipe my ass with that money. I tip your wage in a year.”
McGregor being one of the most popular fighters in the UFC today has a chance to shine even brighter as he looks to make history by becoming the first fighter in UFC history to simultaneously hold two division’s championship titles. He will get his chance facing UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos on March 5 at UFC 196.
