VIDEO | Agitated and Dehydrated Luke Rockhold Reacts to Yoel Romero Missing Weight
Here’s our interview with @LukeRockhold, and he’s clearly feeling some type of way about @YoelRomeroMMA missing weight… #UFC221 https://t.co/G5aQ44nScp

Luke Rockhold isn’t happy. Who can blame him though? After an one dangerous opponent in Robert Whittaker gets swapped out for another dangerous — and completely different — opponent in Yoel Romero, he got another wrench thrown into plans with Yoel missing weight. Romero was given a second attempt, but was still 2.7 pounds off from the interim championship weight. The fight nearly was called off entirely, but the UFC and Rockhold settled their negotiations. Megan Olivi interviewed Luke Rockhold after the fall out, who was clearly pissed off and trying to get some fluids in his system.
Should have be doing the salsa in the sauna. Some bullshit as usual

“Typical. Par for the course, Yoel Romero. [I was saying the] same sh-t [on stage at the ceremonial weigh-ins]. Be professional. [Romero] doesn’t have the cleanest track record. I see everything [when I look at the match-up]. It’s all he knows. Wrestling. I wrestled. I know wrestling. I know jiu jitsu. Wrestler’s like that with explosion, bring it. This is a different world. This isn’t wrestling. This is MMA and I own the ground. I own the MMA ground. I beat him on the feet. I beat him on the ground. I just got to be relaxed, I got to be patient. I got to let him expose himself. I got this fight. If I just – I just got to be f-cking straight. Be smart. I’m going to own him from start to finish.” — Luke Rockhold speaking to UFC on FOX.
Tonight we’ll be dealing with a Yoel Romero who didn’t have to drain himself in the fight like Luke Rockhold had to do to actually make the weight. It’s no secret his cuts have gotten more and more difficult, especially with his announcement that he’ll be moving up to light heavyweight soon. With that said, Rockhold has been here before and every cut isn’t easy. He’ll be fueled by this drama with Romero and looking for revenge as he attempts to solidify his title shot. A journey he’s been on since Summer of 2016.
