This Saturday, when the UFC makes its long-awaited debut in Moscow, Russia, former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski will take on Russian heavyweight Shamil Abdurakhimov. In the lead-up to this event, Belarus’ Arlovski was scheduled to appear on a Russian television program to promote his fight and the larger card. Unfortunately, this interview didn’t go as planned.

Shortly after this interview began, the program aired footage of Andrei Arlovski’s 2016 knockout loss to Alistair Overeem — you know, rather than footage of one of his dozens of MMA wins.

After verifying that they had already gone live, Arlovski then walked off the stage, evidently put off by the disrespect.

“We are live, right?” Arlovski asks the show’s hosts before his exit (via MMA_Russia). “OK, let’s just stop this interview. You are rooting only for the Russian fighters. Thank you, good bye.”

See the video at the top of this post.

When he steps into the Octagon with Shamil Abdurakhimov at UFC Moscow, Andrei Arlovski will attempt to rebound from a close, decision loss to Australian heavyweight contender Tai Tuivasa. This loss to Tuivasa separated him from back to back victories over Junior Albini and Stefan Struve. He’s 27-16 overall.

Do you think Andrei Arlovski was right to ditch this interview after they inexplicably aired footage of his losses, rather than his wins? Join the conversation in the comments section below.
