VIDEO | Boxing champion Deontay Wilder says he would knockout and submit Brock Lesnar in the Octagon
Boxing’s WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder says he is no stranger to the game of mixed martial arts.
While speaking with Sports Illustrated, the topic of Wilder fighting Brock Lesnar was brought up and the boxing champion said some interesting things about a potential matchup with the former UFC heavyweight champion and current WWE wrestling star.
“I mean, if the price is right. Of course,” Wilder said regarding a fight against Lesnar.
When asked who would win, the boxing champion gave his take.
“I win, of course. You know? I’ll go to the Octagon with him,” Wilder said with a laugh.
When questioned if he was serious, the boxing heavyweight champion came back with some questions of his own.
“Why wouldn’t I? Why would you think I wouldn’t?” Wilder questioned.
“Well, you know, and I’m also a talented fighter as well too when it comes to the UFC. I have friends that do it as well.”
Wilder is then asked if he would win by knockout or submission and the boxer said he would do both and again laughed at how that result would have to play out.
Deontay Wilder holds a perfect 38-0 professional boxing record with 37 wins coming by way of KO. Wilder’s next fight is scheduled to take place on November 4 as he takes on fellow undefeated boxer Luis Ortiz.
