VIDEO | Brutal slam KO leaves fighter starched

By bjpenndotcom - December 3, 2016

This weekend at Legacy 63 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, UFC veteran Gerald Harris picked up a frighteningly brutal KO win as he knocked out Aaron Cobb with a slam.

Harris had Cobb pressed against the fence, which he then used to help him lock his hands and go for a takedown. When Cobb attempted to secure guard while he was still being held in the air, Harris didn’t hesitate to slam him into the canvas, leaving Cobb starched.

The fight was the first in over three years for the former UFC veteran. After signing with the World Series of Fighting in 2012, Harris dropped a unanimous decision to Josh Burkman in his WSOF debut. Fortunately, he bounced back by defeating Jorge Santiago at WSOF 4 in 2013. In 2014, Harris announced his retirement from MMA, as he finished his career off with a 22-5 professional record.

Harris fought with the UFC for one year back in 2010, going 3-1 with the promotion. In his UFC debut he earned ‘Knockout of the Night’ honors as he TKOd John Salter with punches. In his second UFC appearance, Harris once again finished his opponent as he TKOd Mario Miranda, making it nine straight wins. At UFC 116, Harris once again picked up knockout of the night honors as he KOd David Branch with a brutal slam. Unfortunately, his UFC run came to an end in November of 2010 when he dropped a unanimous decision to Maiquel Falcao. Harris then bounced around regional promotions such as Dream, Tachi Palace, and WSOF to name a few.

Gerald Harris slam KO2

Despite three years away from the Octagon, the 37 year-old was not only able to secure a win in his return to the cage, but an incredibly impressive one at that.
