Recently, it was announced that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor would be a character in ‘Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’, set to release later this year.
McGregor, who is fresh off a majority decision win over Nate Diaz at UFC 202 last month, released a photo on Twitter this week of himself in the game, which sparked fan interest in regards to whether or not McGregor would be a playable character in the game.
Now, ‘The Mac Life’ has released behind the scenes footage of the featherweight champ doing motion capture for the game, as well as going through the facial recognition process to get his face into the game.
Since McGregor’s win over Nate Diaz at UFC 202, UFC President Dana White has remained adamant that McGregor return to the 145 pound division to defend his featherweight title against Jose Aldo. White has stated on several occasions that if McGregor chooses to not defend his belt, he will be forced to vacate the title.
Despite that, McGregor stated following UFC 202 that his next fight will likely be at 155 pounds. Recently, reports have began emerging that the UFC is looking to book a lightweight title fight between McGregor and Eddie Alvarez for the main event of UFC 205. While the fight has yet to be officially announced, reports have emerged that the hold-up with the fight is that McGregor doesn’t want to relinquish his featherweight championship.
