VIDEO | Conor McGregor says he is ready to “Change the face of the fight game once again!”
We are now less than a week away from what could be the biggest event in combat sports history as current UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor will take his talents to the squared circle to throw down with undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather on August 26 in Las Vegas.
If you ask almost anyone in the boxing community they will tell you that Conor McGregor has just a snowballs chance in hell of defeating Floyd Mayweather next weekend in Sin City.
Former three-division boxing world champion Shane Mosley recently stated that the Irish star would have only a 50/50 chance of beating Floyd’s 64-year-old father, never mind Mayweather Jr. who is a perfect 49-0.
Regardless, those doubters will not likely phase “Mystic Mac”, who has made a living off of shocking fans and analysts with his performances.
We all remember Conor McGregor’s fight for the undisputed featherweight championship at UFC 194 in December of 2015, right? You know, the fight against the legendary Brazilian Jose Aldo who possessed the type of leg kicks which could chop down an elephant… Well, just in case you forgot, McGregor would probably happily remind you with these two words “Thirteen seconds!”.
Prior to shocking the world by bouncing Jose Aldo’s head off the canvas, Conor McGregor was engaged in another fight that many people believed he “couldn’t win”.
Of course I am talking about “Mystic Mac” squaring off with heavy-handed wrestler Chad Mendes in the main event of UFC 189. That was another circumstance in which many fans and analysts, including myself, thought McGregor was finally going to get “exposed” by a powerful wrestler. Although Mendes had his moments in the early stages of that fight, the bout ended with another devastating Conor McGregor left hand.
With that said, we are now six days away from another highly anticipated Conor McGregor fight which he “can’t win”.
Of course the odds are stacked against Conor McGregor more than ever on August 26. “Mystic Mac” is making his professional boxing debut against arguably the greatest boxer of all time in Floyd “Money” Mayweather. But that seems to be when McGregor shines the brightest… When he has “no chance in hell”.
The brash Irish star recently spoke with his website “The Mac Life” and it certainly sounds as if he is ready to once again shock the world.
