The most feared women’s fighter on the planet, Cris Cybrog, has been forced to vacate her Invicta featherweight championship.

Cristiane Justino just released the above video on youtube detailing why she has relinquished her Invicta featherweight title.

According to Cyborg, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will no longer allow her to compete at 145-pounds with a rival promotion.

Interestingly, the UFC did not make this decision until they crowned their own 145-pound women’s champion, Germaine de Randamie, this past February at UFC 208.

Cristiane Justino competed under the Invicta FC fight banner on five occasions, winning the promotions featherweight title in July of 2013 by defeating Marloes Coenen via fourth-round TKO.

Cyborg would go on to defend her Invicta championship on three different occasions, all while fighting on her current UFC contract, scoring first-round knockout victories over Charmaine Tweet, Faith Van Duin and most recently Daria Ibragimova at ‘Invicta FC 15’ in January of 2016.

Shortly after her first-round destruction of Daria Ibragimova, Cris Cyborg made her octagon debut at UFC 198 in May of 2016 against veteran Leslie Smith in a catchweight bout contested at 140-pounds.

Cyborg scored a quick win over Leslie Smith at the pay-per-view event, earning a TKO victory in just 81-seconds much to the delight of her hometown crowd in Curitiba, Brazil.

In her second UFC appearance, Justino squared off with Lina Lansberg in another catchweight fight that was once again contested at 140-pounds.

Although Lansberg proved to be a tough opponent, she was no match for the overwhelming power displayed by Cyborg who promptly finished Lina midway through the second-round of their event headlining scrap.

Since that time, the UFC finally established a women’s featherweight division, even crowning a champion in the form of Germaine de Randamie – who defeated Holly Holm via decision at UFC 208 to capture the inaugural title.

With that said, most fans still consider Cris Cyborg to be the best women’s featherweight fighter in the world and Justino seems more than eager to prove that theory true.
