One of the most intimidating figures in women’s MMA, Gabi Garcia is set to fight Destanie Yarbrough at RIZIN 2 on September 25 in Japan.

Yarbrough, a professional football player that has gotten into MMA is looking to put her mark on the sport and hopes to bring the heavier women’s MMA divisions in the spotlight.

“I’m never scared. “Never scared,” Yarbrough told TMZ about her opponent. “I’m actually excited and I can’t control my emotions. I haven’t been able to sleep because I’ve been so hyped since this fight [was announced].

“I love challenges and Gabi is a big challenge right now. She’s a big figure up there, so I can’t wait to shock the world, like I say all the time. But, I’m not scared of Gabi.”

In regards to what she is looking to do in the sport of mixed martial arts, Yarbrough has her goals set high and has her intentions set on being the face of the heavier weight classes in women’s MMA .

“Ultimately I hope, you know, women’s heavyweights, upper classes that aren’t really big in America, I hope they actually do become a big thing. But, I want to dominate my weight class. I want to be the best and I want to be the first chick, if the UFC brings these weight classes on, I want to be that figure. I want to be that one they’re chasing to be.”

In regards to how the fight will go with Garcia on September 25, Yarbrough says, “It’ll be a battle!”

“I’m going to be 2-0. Yes. Every day I wake up I say, ‘When I win.’ I don’t say, ‘If I win.’
