Saturday evening in Toronto, Canada, fan favorites Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, and Matt ‘The Immortal’ Brown will square off in a highly anticipated welterweight showdown.

Cerrone, who is currently ranked at #5 on the UFC’s official welterweight rankings, will be riding an impressive 3-fight win streak into the bout. After having his 8-fight lightweight win streak snapped by Rafael dos Anjos at ‘UFC Fight Night: Orlando’ in a failed bid for the lightweight title, ‘Cowboy’ made the jump to welterweight just two months later. In his welterweight debut, Cerrone picked up an impressive first round submission win over Alex ‘Cowboy’ Oliveira at ‘UFC Fight Night: Pittsburgh’. Cerrone then followed up the win with back to back TKO wins over Patrick Cote, and Rick Story, the latter of which being a flawless 4-punch combination that left Story dazed and confused on the canvas.

Brown on the other hand will enter the Octagon on a 2-fight losing streak that saw him drop a 1st round submission loss to Demian Maia at UFC 198, and most recently a TKO loss to Jake Ellenberger at UFC 201. For Brown, who is currently ranked at #14 on the UFC’s official welterweight rankings, a win over #5 ranked Cerrone would certainly not only make a statement, but also certainly put Brown extremely close to an elusive welterweight title shot.

In the video above you can see Cerrone & Brown engage in a heated staredown, where Cerrone jokes that Brown won’t give him a handshake, while Brown mean mugs him. Cerrone finishes the encounter by reminding Brown “We don’t fight ’til Saturday.”
