“Mr. @joerogan drilling the BMT Bas Combo! @BASRUTTENMMA @bangmuaythai @onnit #GetOnnit #QualityReps #MartialArts #HealthyLiving #NinjaSkills AND YES HE COULD COMPETE IN THE @ufc IF HE WANTED TOO!”
It’s no secret that UFC commentator Joe Rogan has an extremely lengthy background in martial arts himself.
The longtime UFC commentator competed in TaeKwonDo for many years, winning the TaeKwonDo US Open, as well as several other national titles before retiring due to fear of brain damage.
More recently, Rogan earned his black belt in 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu under his longtime friend Eddie Bravo. Rogan, who has trained under Bravo for many years, utilizes his knowledge in both striking and Jiu-Jitsu to give fight fans the best experience possible while watching fights.
Given his involvement in martial arts himself, many have wondered how Rogan would do in the UFC. The talks of Rogan making his UFC debut grew so popular that EA Sports included Rogan as an unlock-able character in ‘EA Sports UFC 2’.
In the video above, you can see Rogan training with famed striking coach, former UFC fighter Duane ‘Bang’ Ludwig. The former Team Alpha Male head coach, who now owns and trains ‘Ludwig Martial Arts’ in Colorado, coaches TJ Dillashaw, as well as several other UFC fighters.
Ludwig posted the video to Instagram, praising Rogan for his striking skills, saying that Rogan could undoubtedly compete in the UFC if he wanted to.
