Joe Rogan was upset with himself after he interviewed Daniel Cormier in the Octagon following his KO loss to Jon Jones in the main event of UFC 214.

Rogan previously stated that he no longer wanted to interview fighters that just suffered a nasty KO because they were not in the right mental state to do so. However, Rogan went against his own policy in all the madness following the devastating outcome and interviewed Cormier in the Octagon, who couldn’t help but let his emotions pour out.

Jones was asked by Sports Illustrated if he thought it was fair that Rogan interviewed Cormier in the Octagon just after being knocked out and had a very interesting take on the situation.

“Um, I think the fans deserved to see Daniel in that raw state,” said Jones on the subject (at 3:42 of the video). “It is kind of unfair to Daniel, but to the fans, I’m sure they loved to just be able to see the raw emotion that goes into – it was just so real. And that’s the UFC’s slogan. Our slogan is the ‘UFC, we’re as real as it gets.’ So, it was very real and I’m sure the fans really appreciate it.

“I could see how if you’re in Daniel’s camp, you hate that moment, but to the fans, you know I think it was just such a real, raw moment and most people are grateful to see it.”
