VIDEO | LIVE! Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor New York press conferencence
Thursday afternoon, the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor world tour hits New York for the third stop of the highly anticipated four-city tour.
Wednesday’s press conference stop in Toronto was much more intense than the first stop of the tour in Los Angeles on Tuesday, with the UFC lightweight champion coming out guns blazing in the verbal battle. Upon taking to the mic, Conor McGregor quickly took aim at not only the Mayweather family, but Showtime Exec. Stephen Espinoza, who he blamed for cutting power to his mic during the first press conference:
“Is this mic on? On the count of three, I want everyone in this arena to scream at the top of their lungs, ‘f**k the Mayweathers!’”
He then continued, taking aim at Espinoza:
“You … little weasel. Look at you, you little weasel, I can see it in your eyes,” McGregor said to Espinoza as cheers roared. “Cut the champ’s mic off? Hell no! They’re trying to set me up, catch me off guard, get me in an awkward position, but I thrive in awkward positions. There’s nothing these guys can do to faze me.
“I’m getting checks … when Floyd was 28 years old, he was on Oscar De La Hoya’s undercard. And that’s just facts. Floyd is an old, weak [expletive].”
Mayweather of course was quick to fire back, and ultimately stated at the post-press conference media scrum that he believes he is up 2-0 in the events:
“That’s for you guys to score. I think I won both rounds, to be honest. I’m winning. Did he take it today [in Toronto] because they were screaming loud? That has nothing to do with it. Tell me his speech (waits for response). Well it wasn’t a good speech then.”
Tune in for stop #3 of the tour above!
