VIDEO | Mickey Gall and CM Punk’s post-fight octagon interviews

By Chris Taylor - September 11, 2016

Former WWE champion CM Punk (0-1 MMA) made his highly anticipated octagon debut at last night’s UFC 203 pay-per-view event in Cleveland, Ohio.

Unfortunately for fans of the former professional wrestling star, Punk was dominated by his opponent Mickey Gall (3-0 MMA) at yesterday’s event and was eventually forced to tapout to a rear-naked choke in the very first-round of the fight.
When the fight started Punk eagerly rushed across the cage to trade punches, leaving himself in a vulnerable state to be taken down. His undefeated opponent, Mickey Gall, quickly seized the opportunity, scoring a double leg takedown just seconds in to the fight. From there, Gall was able to dominate Punk in the grappling department, eventually taking Brooks’ back and securing a fight-ending rear-naked choke submission.

Following his victory over Punk, Gall issued a challenge to fellow UFC prospect Sage Northcutt (8-1 MMA). According to reports, Northcutt has accepted Mickey’s challenge and a fight between the two up and comers is already in the works, possibly for November’s UFC 205 event in New York.

When Punk took to the microphone he delivered a very heartfelt speech as you can see in the above video.

“In life you go big or you go home. I just like to take challenges. It was a hell of a mountain to try and climb. I didn’t get to the summit today but it doesn’t mean I’m going to give up. It doesn’t mean that I’m going to stop. I appreciate all the support from everybody. Obviously Mickey is a hell of a fighter. I will be back believe it or not. This is the most fun I’ve ever had in my life. Second best night of my life besides marrying my wife obviously. I know there is a lot of doubters, but listen life is about falling down and getting up.”
