There is a lot of speculation on what will come next as far as fighting goes for Phil Brooks, who is better known by his WWE name, CM Punk.

UFC strawweight and former “Dancing with the Stars” finalist Paige VanZant spoke with TMZ after CM Punk’s unsuccessful professional mixed martial arts debut at UFC 203.

“I love CM Punk, I wanted him to do well,” VanZant said. “I don’t know, I think he’s just a little too old for it.

“He came out there a little too aggressive and confident. You just can’t teach jiu-jitsu in two years.

When asked if there are any fights in the UFC that CM Punk has a better chance at winning, VanZant feels that there are still good matchups for the former professional wrestler.

“He definitely has a chance. He definitely does. There’s a lot of other people out there that I think he would do a lot better against. Maybe someone that doesn’t have such a high-level jiu-jitsu background. So, I would love to see him fight again. He’s definitely persistent and he’s still an athlete.”

As far as what Paige thinks CM Punk needs to work on, the Team Alpha Male fighters says that again, jiu-jitsu is a major part his game that needs work.

“He needs to work on his jiu-jitsu,” said VanZant laughing as she already mentioned the specific martial art. “I would say a good focus on jiu-jitsu. It’s going to take a while but he can do it.”

Ultimately, VanZant said that bringing CM Punk in for the fight in the UFC was not only good for him, but good for all the fighters in the UFC as well.

“It is, it definitely is. And I think that’s the biggest thing. Everyone complained about him being in the UFC, but it’s the entertainment industry and the UFC is in to make money, of course. And, CM Punk is an entertainer. He puts on a show and he brought a lot of fans over to the UFC and ultimately the more fans there are in the UFC, the money there is for the rest of us.”
