If you are not one that has added to the 35 million plus views on the Conor McGregor vs The Mountain YouTube video, the topic has been brought up once again for you to take a look.

Back in 2015, ahead of his UFC featherweight title unification bout against Jose Also, “The Notorious” spent some time doing some rather playful sparring with Icelandic strongman Hafthor Bjornsson, who some may know better as Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane from “Game of Thrones.”

McGregor said after their little sparring session that he got the best of the 6’9”, 400-pound man and that “not even a ‘Mountain’ can take these shots from me.”

However, “The Mountain” disagrees as he said a few months after their sparring session that he was taking it easy on the UFC star as he didn’t want to “break” him before his fight. Bjornsson was recently asked by RT Sport to reflect on the 2015 sparring session with “The Notorious” and had the same story.

“So I had a sparring session with him, just a joke one a while ago before his big fight against Aldo,” said Bjornsson (at 2:00 of the video). “I had to hold myself back because I have too much power for a man his size. If I would push all my power into him, I would crush him. Crush him.”

We’ve seen Bjornsson go at it in a more serious sparring session where he definitely threw some powerful punches but did not take out his sparring partner.

How do you think a serious sparring session would go between the current UFC lightweight champ and the giant Bjornsson? Let’s take this one to the comment section!
