Wednesday Warriors: Patrick Roy vs. Chris Osgood
In today’s segment of “Wednesday Warriors” we feature a scrap between former National Hockey League goaltenders Chris Osgood and Patrick Roy.
This epic fight occurred during the 1997-1998 season, when the rivalry between Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche was at its peak.
Despite being much smaller than his opponent, Osgood was able to get in some timely shots before eventually bringing Roy down to the ice for the win.
Patrick Roy played in the National Hockey League from 1984-2003 as a member of the Montreal Canadiens and then the Colorado Avalanche. The Hall of Fame goaltender would earn 4 Stanley Cup Championships during his illustrious career.
Meanwhile, Chris Osgood began his NHL career with the Detroit Red Wings in 1993. The 5-foot 10-inch goaltender would retire in 2011 after playing 18 seasons in the league. Osgood would help guide the Detroit Red Wings to three Stanley Cup Championships during his stellar NHL career.
