Triller holds its next big event this event this evening at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida. The main event of the card features an eight-round heavyweight boxing match between the legendary boxer Holyfield and the former MMA superstar Belfort.

In the main event of Triller Fight Club Legends 2, Belfort was set to fight Oscar De La Hoya but after De La Hoya tested positive for COVID-19, Holyfield stepped in on short notice. When the fight was made, it was set to be a pro bout but that may change.

Although new to color commentary, Trump and fighting have been intertwined for some time now, most notably with top contender Colby Covington’s friendship. “Multiple sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ, Trump says he’s making an ‘obscene’ amount of money providing ‘live, alternative commentary’ on the Evander Holyfield vs. Vitor Belfort fight. We’re told Triller, the media company behind the event, is paying a fortune … millions and millions for his blow-by-blow analysis, though our sources would not be more specific.” (According to TMZ)

Former UFC champion Vitor Belfort promised the fans an “epic” boxing match against legendary boxer Evander Holyfield this Saturday night. Belfort returns to the pro boxing ring for the first time in 15 years when he takes on Holyfield this weekend for Triller Fight Club. Belfort was originally set to fight Oscar De La Hoya, but the fight was scrapped when De La Hoya had to withdraw due to COVID-19. Instead, Holyfield stepped up on short notice and will now take on Belfort this Saturday.

In a short notice contest this weekend, 58-year-old Evander Holyfield will be stepping back into the ring for the first time in 10 years to take on UFC legend Vitor Belfort. The bout was initially supposed to see Belfort take on Oscar De La Hoya but after the latter tested positive for COVID-19, Holyfield stepped in to save the day.

Former UFC champion Vitor Belfort is currently the betting underdog for this weekend’s boxing match against the legend Evander Holyfield. The 44-year-old Belfort was supposed to fight fellow combat sports legend, 48-year-old Oscar De La Hoya, this weekend at Triller Fight Club’s upcoming boxing event, but the fight was canceled after De La Hoya contracted COVID-19. Instead of canceling the card, Triller was able to get Holyfield to step up on short notice and take the fight. However, the California State Athletic Commission did not sanction the fight due to Holyfield being 58 years old and taking the fight on one week’s notice. Instead, the card shifted to Florida.

Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya has been deemed out of the Vitor Belfort boxing match, and Evander Holyfield is expected to step in instead. TMZ Sports first reported the news that De La Hoya is out of the Belfort fight, which was scheduled to take place on September 11. Instead, Belfort will fight Holyfield now, although the fight has not been officially sanctioned yet. Either way, De La Hoya is out of the fight and on Friday afternoon he announced to his fans he the reason he is out is due to COVID-19. According to De La Hoya, he is fully vaccinated but still contracted the coronavirus.

In the main event of UFC 126 in February 2011, Silva landed one of the most incredible knockouts in MMA history when he landed a front kick to the jaw of Belfort and put him out cold with punches. It was an amazing finish by “The Spider” and for years, Belfort has talked about wanting to have a rematch with his Brazilian rival, but it hasn’t happened yet.

Former UFC champion Vitor Belfort is hoping for a rematch with fellow MMA legend Anderson Silva in boxing 10 years after they met in the UFC. It was at UFC 126 in February 2011 that Silva pulled off one of the greatest knockouts in UFC history when he knocked Belfort out with a brutal front kick to the face and punches. For the past decade, these two pillars of Brazilian combat sports have been going back and forth with each other and a rematch has always been something that the fans have wanted to see. But with both men no longer in the UFC, a rematch in MMA doesn’t seem likely anytime soon. However, now that both men are back in the world of boxing, it seems possible that a rematch between the two legends of the sport could take place in boxing.

Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya will return to the ring when he takes on former UFC champion Vitor Belfort in an exhibition boxing match. Mike Coppinger of The Athletic was the first to report that De La Hoya vs. Belfort is on tap for the Triller Fight Club event scheduled for September 11 in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be an exhibition match and the fighters will wear 12-ounce gloves. As the scribe notes, the 48-year-old De La Hoya hasn’t fought since losing to Manny Pacquiao in 2008. The 44-year-old Belfort, meanwhile, hasn’t competed since losing to Lyoto Machida in the UFC in 2018, and his only pro boxing match came back in 2006, which he won by first-round KO.

Vitor Belfort criticized Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren for venturing into boxing, saying he thinks “they are the worst representation of MMA.” Belfort was supposed to make his return to boxing this weekend against YouTuber “The Real Tarzann” but the entire Triller Fight Club boxing event was pushed back to later this summer after headliner Teofimo Lopez tested positive for COVID-19. For Belfort, it was disappointing to hear the news that the fight was pushed back, but he is looking forward to stepping back into the boxing ring and showing everyone that MMA fighters can actually box, because as far as Belfort is concerned, what we’ve seen thus far hasn’t been pretty.

Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva praised his longtime rival Vitor Belfort as both MMA legends make the transition into boxing. Silva makes his return to boxing next month when he takes on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in his first boxing match since 2005. At age 46, Silva was released by the UFC last year after getting knocked out by Uriah Hall, but he has moved quickly to re-establish himself in the world of boxing. Like many older fighters, Silva is using his name to cash in on the current boxing craze that was started by older fighters such as Mike Tyson returning to the ring.
