Today’s UFC London main card is kicked off by a light heavyweight bout between Paul Craig and Volkan Oezdemir. Craig (16-5-1 MMA) will enter the contest sporting a six fight unbeaten streak, his latest effort resulting in a submission win over Nikita Krylov. ‘Bearjew’ has gone 5-0-1 since September of 2019, with his lone blemish being a draw against former UFC champion Shogun Rua.

A key light heavyweight bout featuring former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir taking on Magomed Ankalaev kicked off today’s UFC 267 main card. Ankalaev (16-1 MMA) had entered the contest on a six-fight winning streak, his most recent being a unanimous decision victory over Nikita Krylov back in February.

Volkan Oezdemir didn’t think he would be off for this long after his last fight. Back at UFC 251 last July, Oezdemir suffered a KO loss to Jiri Prochazka and since then, he has not been able to fight due to a variety of different reasons. However, he will finally make his return on the main card of UFC 267 against Magomed Ankalaev.

UFC light heavyweight Jiri Prochazka was praised by former opponent Volkan Oezdemir, saying “he’s bringing something different to the game.” Prochazka has taken the UFC by storm in just a short period of time. The former RIZIN standout made his UFC debut last summer against Oezdemir on Fight Island and he picked up a brutal knockout victory. Then, in his second UFC appearance, he knocked out Dominick Reyes. The UFC liked the performance so much that it gave him the role as a backup fighter for the upcoming UFC light heavyweight title match at UFC 267 featuring champion Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira. Should either Blachowicz or Teixeira not be able to make it to that title fight, then Prochazka will be the one who fills in for them.

Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Volkan Oezdemir has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled October 17 bout with Nikita Krylov. Oezdemir and Krylov were slated to co-headline the upcoming UFC event Fight Island. However, due to a knee injury, ‘No Time‘ was forced to withdraw from the contest.

The UFC is back to business in Busan, South Korea on Saturday with the anticipated UFC Busan card. UFC Busan will be headlined by a featherweight fight between Korean legend “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung and Frankie Edgar. The Korean Zombie was originally expected to fight Brian Ortega. However, the 28-year old suffered a partially torn ACL during a sparring session. He is still eyeing a fight against Sung Jung in early 2020 but he had to pull out, leaving Frankie Edgar to step up as a last-minute replacement.

Speaking on a recent episode of BJPenn.com Radio, Volkanovski divulged that he envisions Edgar giving the champion Holloway some problems in this fight. That being said, Volkanovski believes he’s an even more dangerous test for Holloway than Edgar is.

Volkan Oezdemir expected to return the Octagon at UFC Stockholm this weekend opposite his friend Ilir Latifi. Unfortunately, Latifi was forced off the card at the last minute, leaving Switzerland’s Oezdemir without a dance partner. “Due to a back injury, Ilir Latifi has been forced to withdraw from his Saturday UFC Fight Night bout against Volkan Oezdemir,” the UFC announced in a statement.
