Wanderlei Silva: ‘I never tested positive but they want to ban me from MMA’
The Nevada State Athletic Commission has been receiving criticism from all angles ever since they decided to suspend Nick Diaz for five years as a result of a failed drug test for marijuana. Everybody from Ronda Rousey to musical and fashion icon Cher spoke out in support of Diaz, and now Wanderlei Silva is giving Diaz some love!
Silva seamlessly transitioned from showing support for Diaz to bringing up his past with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which has been controversial to say the least. “The Axe Murderer’s” lifetime ban was lifted and he will be meeting with the NSAC again in the near future to find out his fate in the world of MMA.
In the video above, Silva claims that he has never tested positive for anything and that he is clean. “I’ve never tested positive for anything,” Silva said. “I was always a clean fighter and they want to ban me from the sport. How does that work?”
Silva sees flaws in how NSAC handles things and offered a helping hand to the committee that he used to criticize. “This commission should have a professional athlete working there. I am available to work together with the commission to create clear laws that give the athletes the proper respect.”
