Champion Jessica Aguilar Leaves WSOF: ‘I’ve Decided To Be The UFC Champion’
The World Series of Fighting women’s strawweight champion Jessica Aguilar just announced that she has left the promotion.
Aguilar went on The MMA Hour and broke the news, saying that she has left the WSOF in hopes of being signed by the UFC. Check out what she had to say below:
“I’m excited to be here as a free agent today,” said Aguilar, “I’m looking forward to challenging myself against the best and proving why I am the number one ranked fighter in the world, in my weight class.
“I hadn’t fought in a few months and I think my next step is to be the UFC champion. I’ve decided to become the next UFC champion. The UFC wasn’t allowed to talk to me while I was under the WSOF, so I’ve solved that issue for them, I’m a free agent.”
She has not signed with the UFC yet and says, “The ball’s in Dana’s [White] court.”
