Despite Fighter's Request, WSOF Not Looking To Release Palhares
BJPENN.COM News - October 7, 2015
Even though former WSOF champion Rousimar Palhares asked to be released from the promotion, following his indefinite suspension and being striped of his title due to his actions during his fight with Jake Shields, it looks like he will not be getting his wish. Palhares is currently waiting to appear in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission to find out what his punishment will be for seemingly scratching at Shields’ eyes and then holding his fight ending submission too long.

Palhares Wants Out Of WSOF, Asks NSAC To 'Judge Me As I Should Be Judged'
BJPENN.COM News - October 6, 2015
Former UFC fighter Rousimar Palhares was stripped of his World Series of Fighting welterweight title and suspended indefinitely following his most recent fight against Jake Shields. In that fight he repeatedly put his fingers near Shields’ eye and seemed to scratch, or gauge them. Even after the referee warned him he continued to do so. Then, during the fight ending kimura he locked in on Shields, he refused to let go after Shields tapped and the referee tried to pull him away. Palhares has had issues with holding submissions too long in the past and WSOF had seen enough. Now, he waits for his disciplinary hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which is expected to go down sometime this month. Palhares recently talked to MMAFighting and said that he just hopes the commission treats him fairly.

His win may not have been the flashiest of the night, but it sure made a hell of an impact. There was no question who won the bout this time around as Gaethje knocked Palomino out cold in the second round with just thirty seconds remaining in their fight. This was the second time in two fights Palomino was knocked out by Gaethje at “WSOF 19” in the main event.

BJPENN.COM News - September 21, 2015
World Series of Fighting and Bellator both ran major events this weekend and two Renzo Gracie fighters brought some gold back to the gym with them! WSOF fighter gets lengthy suspension for striking opponent after fight
BJPENN.COM News - September 21, 2015
For the second event in a row, World Series of Fighting had to deal out a severe punishment for unsportsmanlike actions. At “WSOF 22: Palhares vs. Shields”, the company was forced to strip their welterweight champion Rousimar Palhares of his title after he held on to ANOTHER submission long after the referee asked him to let go, as well as repeatedly eye gouging Jake Shields throughout the fight. At “WSOF 23”, Vagab Vagabov struck Brian Grinnell several times after the bell. Vagabov had Grinnell pinned up against the decagon fencing and was teeing off shot after shot, which forced the referee to step in and stop the action. It was very obvious the referee was stopping the fight, but Vagabov decided to land a couple extra shots for good measure with an aggravated look on his face.

BJPENN.COM News - September 19, 2015
Last night at World Series of Fighting 23 there were some pretty exciting finishes, including a 32 second KO and a pretty awesome leg scissor submission. Not to mention lightweight champion Justin Goethe and Luis Palomino’s rematch that delivered and was a wild slugfest until Gaethje ended it in the second. One of the not-so-great highlights of the night happened after the referee had already stopped the fight. Reminiscent of the Rousimar Palhares incident, where he held onto a fight ending submission after the referee clearly stopped the fight.
