The final Gracie to fight on the World Series of Fighting 5 card was heavyweight, Rolles Gracie Jr. who took on veteran, Derrick Mehmen. Gracie Jr. looked to end the night with a winning record for the family as up until then, they had gone 1-1 on the preliminary card.

The Preliminary bouts begin at 6 p.m. and the Main card begins at 9 p.m.

Rolles Gracie Jr. (8-1) vs. Derrick Mehmen (15-5)

Result: A lopsided first round for Gracie Jr. built confidence for the Brazilian who seemed to have Mehmen right where he wanted him for the entire opening stanza. Gracie Jr. kept his range, worked his distance, and landed on Mehmen who couldn’t find his range.

In the second, Mehmen stayed focus and looked to find range, which halfway through the first, he did. Mehmen connected with a hard punch over the top of Gracie Jr.’s guard and dazed him badly. Gracie Jr. spun half way around and collapsed to the mat signifying an end to the fight.

Official Decision: Derrick Mehmen defeats Rolles Gracie Jr. via Knockout (punch) at 2:40 of Round 2.
