Zabit has been very dominant throughout his young 14-1 career as he’s racked up six submissions and six knockouts with only two decisions. He was the ACB featherweight champion before making the move over to the ultimate MMA playground. Zabit fought twice from September to November and earned two submission wins to start his UFC career off strong.
After his last win, he was looking for any challenger that was willing to fight. Zabit took to Twitter during the time since and was calling people out specifically:
“Arnold Allen, it’s a shame on you. You have more fights than me in UFC and you turn me down. Very disappointed in you. I’m a man just like you. Call [matchmaker] Sean Shelby and let’s battle with honor. I guess this is the new excuse. Your team works for you. You’re a man and you make decision. Come on, let’s figh. There’s no need for you to be nervous. You are a good fighter but you doing this, nobody will respect you. Artem Lobov, hey, nobody want to fight in Brooklyn? Are you available to fight?
I only had 2 fights in @ufc and I had 5 opponents turn me down for April 7th including @FuryJury @Arnoldbfa @panteraufc @TouchyFili the only guy who accept is @RusHammerMMA but his team decline. No disrespect to none I just want to fight. Please Call @seanshelby @arielhelwani”
In the end, Kyle Bochniak was the one to step up.
Bochniak has had mixed results in the UFC to this point as he’s gone 2-2 but most recently defeated another hot prospect in Brandon Davis at UFC 220. Will he be able to play spoiler in this matchup?
