BJJ veteran Roberto Abreu, also known as “Cyborg”, has addressed his role in sexual assault allegations towards his Fight Sports organization. Back in March 2018, a 31-year-old instructor from Fight Sports was arrested and charged with three counts of sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl, as reported by New York Times. Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu was a coach and close friend of Marcel Goncalves, the man accused.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Gordon Ryan explained why he slapped grappling rival Andre Galvao following his recent submission win. Ryan was seen on video slapping Galvao on Friday following his submission factory over at the “Who’s Number One?” event. Ryan had defeated Roberto Jimenez earlier in the night, where he defeated Jimenez via submission (mounted armbar). Afterward, Ryan ran into Galvao backstage and slapped his rival in the face. Video of the event was captured and put on the internet and led to an even more heated rivalry between the BJJ stars.

Chuck Liddell has clarified his previous comments regarding a potential fight between himself and heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson. Liddell was once known for being one of the scariest men on the planet during his prime with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He was beating top contenders left, right and center, until all of a sudden, his career started to go downhill. His last outing came in 2018 when he was beaten by Tito Ortiz via first round knockout in their long-awaited trilogy fight.

He is a 2013 Pan American black belt champion in the middleweight division, submitting his opponent in the finals with his signature omoplata, or clarkoplata, finish. He was awarded the Submission of the year award from the World Jiu Jitsu Expo for his Pan Am 2013 final match.
