Shortly following the conclusion of tonight’s UFC 250 broadcast, McGregor took to Twitter where he announced that he would be retiring from the fight game.

Masvidal recently revealed that talks for a welterweight title fight with Kamaru Usman had broken down, this after the UFC allegedly wanted him to take a pay cut when compared to his most previous contest with Nate Diaz.

UFC legend Anderson Silva sent a video to former rival Chael Sonnen where he once again expressed how serious he is about a superfight with Conor McGregor. Silva shocked the MMA community recently when he called McGregor out for a catchweight superfight. Considering McGregor has fought the majority of his career at 145lbs and 155lbs and Silva has fought mainly at 185lbs and as high as 205lbs, most fans raised an eyebrow when they saw the callout. But Silva said he wanted to fight at a catchweight at 176lbs, which he believes is marketable, and McGregor has been fighting recently at 170lbs. So perhaps the callout isn’t as crazy as it seemed at first glance.

Dana White has responded to Jorge Masvidal’s claim that he wants his UFC release. On Friday, Masvidal sent several tweets to voice his frustrations about his pay and told the UFC to release him. He is just the latest fighter to complain about fighter pay. Jon Jones went on a Twitter rant about that. Henry Cejudo, meanwhile, retired but said if the promotion paid him more, he would return.

Dana White says that UFC women’s bantamweight and featherweight champion Amanda Nunes is now entering “Tom Brady status” in regard to her accomplishments. Brady, the former quarterback of the New England Patriots and the newest member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is one of the most accomplished athletes in sports history. He has been to nine Super Bowls and led the Patriots to six of them, making him arguably the single-most successful player in NFL history. Brady is also a personal friend of White and so comparing Nunes to him shows how strongly White feels about his female champion.

Aside from the main event between UFC women’s featherweight champion Amanda Nunes and Felicia Spencer, Sterling vs. Sandhagen is the most important fight at this weekend’s UFC 250 card. And now, according to the UFC bossman during the UFC 250 pre-fight media scrum, the winner of this fight will be getting a title shot at 135lbs.
