Masvidal, who had a phenomenal 3-0 year in 2019, is the current and inaugural holder of the BMF Championship. Regardless of whether or not he winds up defending that belt this year, he’s almost certainly going to play a huge role in the UFC Welterweight Championship picture.

UFC veteran and former champion Frankie Edgar has revealed that he has just one fight remaining on his current UFC contract. Edgar, who many consider to be a legend in the world of mixed martial arts, is coming off the back of consecutive losses at the hands of Max Holloway and Chan Sung Jung AKA The Korean Zombie. The expectation was that he would be moving down to bantamweight to face Cory Sandhagen, but the injuries he sustained against The Korean Zombie ensured that wasn’t going to happen.

The welterweight champion was at a Radio Row media event in Miami when he had a verbal run-in with the BMF titleholder. The media event was being held ahead of this weekend’s Super Bowl LIV event where the San Francisco 49ers will face the Kansas City Chiefs.

He also said that fight was the first in his career where he had to ask his corner if he was winning the fight.

Last year’s Modern-era wing featured Michael Bisping and Rashad Evans as inductees and in 2020, there should be a legendary female added to the wing. Four years after she retired from competition, it’s time for Miesha Tate to get the recognition she deserves and she should be inducted into the 2020 Hall Of Fame.

The sports media is gathering in Miami this week in preparation for this weekend’s Super Bowl LIV event featuring the San Francisco 49ers taking on the Kansas City Chiefs. Both Masvidal and Usman are Florida-based fighters and were invited to this week’s media festivities, where they got into a verbal altercation and had to be held back by both of their teams.

Ever since Usman defended his welterweight strap against Colby Covington at UFC 245, there has been plenty of speculation about who he would fight next. Masvidal has always been at the top of the list, but Conor McGregor entered the discussion when he knocked out Donald Cerrone at UFC 246. Leon Edwards is also a top contender for the belt.
