Former UFC fighter Cung Le went back to his bread and butter doing action films and he’s just as action packed as always.   In 2008 Le one the Strikeforce middleweight title and entered the UFC in 2011.   His first task was Wanderlei Silva at UFC 139, the scrap ended  in a TKO loss for Le.

BJ Penn has buzzing in the media after announcing he will be coming out of retirement for a run at the UFC featherweight title. Penn, a UFC Hall of Fame legend has taken a step out of the comfort of his hometown in Hilo, Hawaii and finds himself in one of the most established MMA training camps in the world at JacksonWink MMA Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Penn spoke with KHON2 sports director Rob DeMello on his plans for fighting again in the UFC.

Many people who watched the UFC bantamweight title fight between Dominick Cruz and T.J. Dillashaw on Sunday can agree that the fight was extremely close. Cruz ended up winning a split decision to reclaim the belt from Dillashaw in a competitive five-round fight Dillashaw poured his feelings out in an Instagram post talking about the fight and calls Joe Rogan out for what he feels was bias commentating in favor of Cruz. Although judges do not hear what the UFC color commentators are saying during the fight, Dillashaw simply seemed bothered by Rogan’s commentating.

The UFC announced Tuesday afternoon that Jacare Souza vs. Vitor Belfort would headline a May 14th card in Brazil. The bout is a pivotal one for both fighters. Jacare is coming off a split decision loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 194 that saw Romero become the #1 contender at middleweight, however due to a failed drug test this bout between Jacare and Belfort will likely determine the #1 contender spot at middleweight.

Heading into Fedor Emelianenko’s MMA return on New Year’s Eve at Rizin FF there was much speculation as to who Fedor Emelianenko’s opponent would be.. Ultimately, Emelianenko fought and defeated Jaideep Singh, in the very first round of their main event scrap. Following the bout it was revealed that WSOF President and kickboxing legend Ray Sefo was offered the fight, as well as former UFC champion Randy Couture.

Former champ TJ Dillashaw lost his title over the weekend, but the 25 minutes in the octagon may of been the most ‘drama free’ time for Dillashaw will be having these days. Duane Ludwig seems to be going on the defensive and letting everyone know that he is the reason where Dillashaw is at in his career ‘success wise’ and Urijah Faber had little to do with the former champs success. Urijah Faber has been jockeying for a trilogy fight with Dominick Cruz since ‘The Dominator’ reclaimed his UFC bantamweight championship from TJ Dillashaw this past Sunday in Boston. Following the bout, Faber spoke to media members to discuss a potential trilogy fight with Cruz, where he revealed that the pair have been exchanging heated words via text messages for years.

There has been much speculation as to whether or not our namesake BJ Penn would be coming out of retirement for a fight with Nik Lentz. Recently, Lentz penned an open letter to ‘The Prodigy’ in which he stated his terms for a fight, and that a fight wouldn’t happen unless Penn agreed to those specific terms. Penn joined Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, where he revealed that his retirement is officially over, and that he’s going for the featherweight strap with famed coach Greg Jackson in his corner.
