Sage Northcutt reacts to Dana White’s retirement suggestion

ONE Championship star Sage Northcutt has given his thoughts on UFC president Dana White’s suggestion that he should consider retiring from mixed martial arts. Northcutt officially signed with ONE nearly a year ago now after parting ways with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. His first fight with the promotion took place at May at ONE Championship: Enter the Dragon, where he was knocked out by Cosmo Alexandre in just 29 seconds. The knockout led to the youngster sustaining eight fractures in his face, leading to a nine-hour surgery after the fight.

UFC executive David Shaw shot down the idea of children ever fighting inside the Octagon at the UFC Moscow post-fight press conference. The UFC held another successful event in Moscow, this one headlined by rising Russian featherweight star Zabit Magomedsharipov defeating American Calvin Kattar by unanimous decision in a “Fight of the Night.” In the co-main event, Alexander Volkov defeated Greg Hardy to retain his status as a top heavyweight contender. But it’s what a reporter asked in the post-fight presser that drew a lot of criticism online amongst fellow media and fans.

Adesanya and Romero have been going after each other’s throats on social media lately after news that Paulo Costa is injured and unable to fight for the title emerged. Adesanya said he wants Romero and Romero said he wants Adesanya, but for whatever reason, the UFC hasn’t sent out the contracts to the fighters yet.

Adesanya and Jones have been going after each other on social media ever since Adesanya knocked out Robert Whittaker at UFC 243 to win the UFC middleweight title. Fans and even UFC president Dana White are salivating over the prospect of an Adesanya vs. Jones fight, but “The Last Stylebender” says that for now, he wants to stick at 185lbs and defend his belt down there.

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has slammed top contender Dominick Reyes for showing him what he calls ‘fake respect.’ Jones and Reyes have been going after each other hard on social media in recent weeks ever since Reyes knocked out Chris Weiman in the first round at UFC Boston and called Jones out. Jones at first did not seem interested in fighting Reyes but appears to have changed his tune in recent days and the fight between these two rivals seems inevitable.

UFC women’s bantamweight Jessica-Rose Clark has issued a statement following her unanimous decision loss to Pannie Kianzad at UFC Moscow on Saturday. Clark lost a unanimous decision to Kianzard in the pair’s rematch. The two rival previously met in Invicta, with Kinazad also earning a unanimous decision victory there. The loss to Kianzad at UFC Moscow drops Clark’s UFC record to 2-2. Clark’s two UFC wins came by decision over Bec Rawlings and Paige VanZant, with her losses to Kianzad and Jessica Eye.

UFC heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou called out Alexander Volkov following his unanimous decision win over Greg Hardy at UFC Moscow. Volkov won a lopsided unanimous decision over Hardy with the three judges scoring the contest 30-27 in favor of the Russian. After the fight, Ngannou took to social media to call out Volkov for an upcoming fight between the two giant heavyweights.

After winning their rematch on Saturday night in Los Angeles, YouTuber KSI says that Logan Paul should fight CM Punk next in MMA. After fighting to a majority draw in an amateur boxing match last summer, the pair were booked for a professional boxing match rematch. KSI won the rematch this weekend on DAZN by split decision, with the judges scoring it 56-55, 55-56 and 57-54 in favor of KSI. Paul was deducted two points by the referee for an illegal shot during the contest, and would have won the decision had those points not been deducted.

Current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov wants an apology from the Nevada State Athletic Commission before he will accept a proposed March fight in Las Vegas. ‘The Eagle’ was fined $500,000 by the NSAC and received a nine-month suspension for his infamous post-fight actions at UFC 229. For those who don’t remember, Nurmagomedov proceeded to leap out of the Octagon cage following his submission victory over Conor McGregor, this in order to attack the Irishman’s teammate Dillon Danis.

Dominick Reyes reacts after Jon Jones agrees to title fight

Undefeated light heavyweight contender Dominick Reyes (12-0 MMA) has received his wish and will get the opportunity to challenge Jon Jones for the divisions coveted title. ‘Bones’ took to Twitter earlier this week where he revealed that after reviewing footage of both Corey Anderson and Dominick Reyes with his coaches, his team had concluded that ‘The Devastator’ was the more dangerous opponent and would thus receive the next crack at his title.
