However, after the first three rounds, it did not appear Stipe Miocic would win the fight. In fact, some pundits claim he was “dominated” by Cormier.

Jorge Masvidal says negotiations for Nate Diaz fight underway

Fernando Quiles Jr. - August 20, 2019

Negotiations for fights are “super necessary,” and Jorge Masvidal claims talks are underway for a bout with Nate Diaz. If ring rust truly exists, Diaz is immune. He stepped inside the Octagon for the first time since Aug. 2016 in the co-main event of UFC 241. Diaz took on Anthony Pettis in a bout that went the distance. The Stockton native simply overwhelmed Pettis in the second and third rounds to take a unanimous decision victory.

Three years ago today, in the main event of the stacked UFC 202 card, Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz stepped into the cage for an anticipated rematch. Ireland’s McGregor sought to avenge a recent submission loss to Diaz and recapture some of the mystic he’d lost in defeat. Diaz, meanwhile, looked to prove his recent win over the dangerous Irish striker was not a fluke. After one of the most unforgettable five-round wars in UFC history, McGregor walked away with a majority decision win, leaving their series tied at 1-1.

Dana White not opposed to seeing Jose Aldo at bantamweight

Fernando Quiles Jr. - August 20, 2019

UFC president Dana White appears to be open to Jose Aldo possibly moving down a weight class. Not long ago, the clock was ticking on Aldo’s mixed martial arts career. The man who once ruled the roost at featherweight was planning to retire from MMA competition at the end of 2019. Aldo even considered transitioning to boxing. Those plans changed as Aldo signed a long-term deal with the UFC back in June.

Manager: Jorge Masvidal wants to fight Nate Diaz in enemy territory

Mike Heck - August 20, 2019

The idea of a fight between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz is fascinating enough as is. Any additional elements added to the potential welterweight showdown will be a cherry on top. On Saturday night, after nearly three years away from the Octagon, Diaz returned to defeat Anthony Pettis via unanimous decision in the co-main event of UFC 241. Following the win, Diaz called for a fight with Masvidal for the, hopefully, soon-to-be made “baddest motherf****r in the game” belt.

Joe Rogan considers Deontay Wilder 'an anomaly'

Tom Taylor - August 20, 2019

It’s no secret that Joe Rogan is pretty high on WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. The UFC commentator and podcaster frequently gushes over the brick-fisted boxer, and has even had him on a guest on his show in the past. On the latest edition of the Joe Rogan Experience MMA Show, which featured boxer Terence Crawford as a guest, Rogan once again sang the praises of Wilder.

The former two-division UFC champion St-Pierre retired earlier this year but hasn’t fought since his 2017 win over Michael Bisping at UFC 217. The Canadian fought Nate’s brother Nick at UFC 158 in 2013. Despite the fact that St-Pierre won via dominant unanimous decision, the younger Diaz brother wants to see a rematch.
