UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira wasted little time getting in contact with Jake Paul following a callout. Paul went one-on-one with former UFC fighter Mike Perry in a boxing match. Paul was simply too skilled in the sweet science for Perry to handle. “Platinum” kept getting popped with the jab and ate plenty of power shots from his opponent. Perry was knocked down several times before the referee decided to call the fight in the sixth round.

The Octagon returned to the Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 94 event, an eleven-bout fight card headlined by Amanda Lemos vs. Virna Jandiroba. The highly anticipated women’s strawweight main event resulted in a beautiful second round submission victory for Virna Jandiroba. The Brazilian was able to complete an awesome transition that saw her move from a choke to a deep armbar. She cranked the hold and Amanda Lemos had no choice but to tapout (see that here).

Tonight’s UFC Vegas 94 event is headlined by a women’s strawweight bout between Amanda Lemos and Virna Jandiroba. Lemos (14-4 MMA) last fought and defeated Mackenzie Dern (13-5 MMA) at February’s UFC 298 event. That victory of course was preceded by a unanimous decision loss to Zheng Weili at UFC 292.

A highly anticipated welterweight bout between Nick Diaz and Vicente Luque has been removed from next month’s UFC Abu Dhabi event. Diaz (26-10 MMA) and Luque (22-10 MMA) were slated to collide on August 3rd at the Etihad Arena. However, during tonight’s UFC Vegas 94 broadcast it was announced that the bout is now postponed due to “travel issues”.

As we know, Khamzat Chimaev is one of the most exciting fighters in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. However, as we also know, he’s been pretty inactive over the course of the last few years. Following on from his narrow win over Kamaru Usman, the expectation was that he’d return to action at UFC Saudi Arabia against Robert Whittaker.
