Nate Diaz defends Dana White against critics of UFC fighter pay

Former UFC superstar Nate Diaz defended his former boss, Dana White, against critics of the promotion’s fighter pay model. Diaz will face former UFC 244 foe Jorge Masvidal in a professional boxing matchup this Saturday in Anaheim. He returns to the boxing ring after a loss to Jake Paul in his professional debut last year by unanimous decision.
UFC officially releases Travis Browne from his contract, despite not fighting since 2017

Travis Browne is officially no longer a UFC fighter. Browne fought in the UFC from 2010 until 2017 and while USADA was administering drug tests, his name frequently came up as one of the more popular fighters who got drug tested, despite not being active. After his last bout in 2017, White had said that it would be his last fight, and that has proved been the case.

A UFC middleweight clash between rising contenders Michel Pereira and Anthony Hernandez is reportedly in the works for UFC 306. Pereira announced in a since-deleted social media post that he and Hernandez will feature on the UFC’s upcoming Las Vegas Sphere card on September 14th. MMA journalist Laerte Viana later confirmed the targeted booking after Pereira deleted his announcement.

Paddy Pimblett says Ilia Topuria is sacred to take the fight with Max Holloway for his first title defense. Topuria became the UFC’s featherweight champion back in February with a knockout win over Alexander Volkanovski. He does not have his next fight booked but all signs point to him facing Holloway next.

It appears that former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland is now 1-0 against former NAVY seals. ‘Tarzan’ has been out of the octagon since his return against Paulo Costa at UFC 302 last month. The bout was Sean Strickland’s first since losing to Dricus du Plessis in January, and he largely dominated. The former champion outpointed ‘The Eraser’ en route to a split-decision victory on fight night.

UFC bantamweight contender Adrian Yanez has answered unbeaten prospect Payton Talbott’s recent callout at UFC 303. Talbott knocked out Yanis Ghemmouri in 19 seconds on the UFC 303 prelims on Saturday in Las Vegas. The win moved him to 3-0 in his UFC tenure and 9-0 in his overall career.

Next month in Abu Dhabi, Nick Diaz will face longtime welterweight contender Vicente Luque. However, the 40-year-old reportedly didn’t want to fight ‘The Silent Assassin’ at first.
