UFC star Michael Chandler quelled some fears of his upcoming Conor McGregor fight not coming to fruition on June 29th. Chandler and McGregor are scheduled to headline the UFC’s International Fight Week event at UFC 303 in Las Vegas. The fight has been in the works and discussed for almost two full years and is now just weeks away.

UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards is keeping a keen eye on the upcoming UFC 303 clash between rising welterweights Michael ‘Venom’ Page and Ian Machado Garry. Edwards will defend the welterweight belt against surging contender Belal Muhammad at UFC 304 in Manchester. He returns to defend the belt after a unanimous decision victory over Colby Covington at UFC 296 in December.

Lopes and Evloev are both awaiting their next Octagon assignments after recent wins inside the cage. Lopes most recently finished Sodiq Yusuff at UFC 300, while Evloev defeated Arnold Allen in his last fight at UFC 297.

Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold has nothing but disdain for Sean Strickland. The 39-year-old is fresh off a knockout victory over Joe Schilling in late April at Karate Combat 45. That win was Luke Rockhold’s first since a stoppage victory over David Branch in September 2017. In the years following that win, the former champion suffered three straight UFC losses. Rockhold ultimately retired after a loss to Paulo Costa in late 2022.

Pereira was in Sydney, Australia for a visit and while he was there he went out and trained with Tuivasa. Although the two aren’t in the same weight class, the two did have a light sparring with one another. It wasn’t much, but Pereira did look like he held his own in the spar.

UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov drew high praise from former U.S. President Donald Trump after meeting at the UFC 302 pay-per-view. Nurmagomedov cornered UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev to a title win over Dustin Poirier at UFC 302. It was Makhachev’s third successful title defense after back-to-back wins over Alexander Volkanovski in 2023.

UFC CEO Dana White has admitted he made an error after claiming Power Slap has a larger social media following than any other professional sports team. White and the UFC enjoyed another big weekend at UFC 302 last Saturday in Newark. In the main event, UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev defeated Dustin Poirier by fifth-round submission to retain the belt.

Jorge Masvidal didn’t take long to speak out after his and Nate Diaz’s teams threw hands at their Thursday pre-fight press conference. Diaz and Masvidal are scheduled to meet in the boxing ring on July 6, almost five years since their UFC 244 BMF clash. Masvidal defeated Diaz by TKO (doctor’s stoppage) to win the inaugural BMF belt.
