Alexander Volkanovski and Islam Makhachev had a heated back-and-forth over rehydration during the UFC 294 press conference. Volkanovski and Makhachev fought back in February in Australia and after the fight, Dan Hooker accused the lightweight champ of using an IV to rehydrate. Although it has never been proven, ahead of UFC 294, Makhachev claims having 40 hours to rehydrate before this fight will be a difference in his power.

Former UFC dual-weight champion Conor McGregor is a fan of Khamzat Chimaev’s move to 185 pounds. ‘Borz’ is set to face Kamaru Usman this Saturday night at UFC 294. For Khamzat Chimaev, the fight will be his first since a submission win over Kevin Holland last September. As many fans likely remember, that bout only came together after the Chechen badly missed weight for a scheduled fight against Nate Diaz.

In February 2022, the former MMA fighter was arrested on charges of attempted murder, as well as a litany of other charges. Cain Velasquez reportedly fired several times after a car in traffic, and struck one man inside the car. The news frankly shocked the UFC world, considering the fighter’s strong reputation as a family man, and kind individual.

Dana White is a bit biased, but he believes that UFC 294 will be the biggest event of the month. Earlier today, the UFC 294 press conference went down from Abu Dhabi. As one would expect, the main event fighters, Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski were talkative and went back and forth. As did the co-main event with Kamaru Usman and Khamzat Chimaev being tense, in a conversation moderated by Dana White.

UFC CEO Dana White has defended Paulo Costa following his withdrawal from his UFC 294 fight against Khamzat Chimaev. Costa hadn’t fought since August of last year but was supposed to face Robert Whittaker in February in Perth. However, the Brazilian was in a contract dispute with the UFC, and the fight was scrapped. The former middleweight title challenger was then booked against Ikram Aliskerov in July, but that fight also never came to fruition.
