A bantamweight bout between Umar Nurmagomedov and Nate Maness takes place on the main card of tonight’s UFC Vegas 57 event. Nurmagomedov (14-0 MMA) was last seen in action at March’s UFC 272 event, where he extended his perfect record to fourteen with a first round submission victory over Brian Kelleher.

The Octagon returns to Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 57 event, a twelve-bout fight card headlined by Arman Tsarukyan vs. Mateusz Gamrot. Tsarukyan (18-2 MMA) will enter the contest sporting a five-fight winning streak, his latest being a second round TKO victory over Joel Alvarez back in February. The Armenian-Russian has gone 5-1 since joining the UFC in April of 2019, with his lone loss coming against top contender Islam Makhachev.

Jimmie Rivera fought the who’s who of the UFC’s bantamweight division but he says one fight sticks out as his toughest fight. Rivera competed in the UFC from 2015 to 2021 and fought the likes of Petr Yan, Aljamain Sterling, Urijah Faber, Pedro Munhoz, Marlon Moraes, and John Dodson among others. Yet for Rivera, he says the toughest fight of his career was his 2019 scrap against Petr Yan that he lost by decision.

He earned the title opportunity following his brutal knockout of Derek Brunson in February. Furthermore, the bout will be the first time that Cannonier has fought for a UFC championship in his career.

Taila Santos thought her UFC 275 fight against Valentina Shevchenko would be harder than it was. Santos had a ton of success early on using her wrestling and many thought she did enough to win the fight when it hit the scorecards. However, it was Shevchenko edging out a split decision, but Santos says she’s surprised by how easy it was.

Dan Hardy is scolding Dana White for his ‘unnecessary disrespect’ towards Nate Diaz. It was UFC President, Dana White who recently reacted to Nate Diaz once again requesting his release from the UFC. White pointed out that Diaz has won only one of his last several fights, suggesting perhaps it is time for Californian welterweight to move on.

The UFC has parted ways with another three fighters according to recent reports from @UFCRosterWatch on ‘Twitter’. It should also be noted that it has not been confirmed if all of these moves were outright releases or simply contracts which were not renewed.

On August 20 in Salt Lake City, Leon Edwards will finally get his chance at glory as he prepares to lock horns with Kamaru Usman for the UFC welterweight championship. It’s a moment that has been a long time coming and while he may have lost to ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ back in 2015, both men are very different nowadays and have been through an awful lot in their respective careers.

The conversation surrounding who the ‘greatest of all time‘ is in mixed martial arts will likely be raging on for a long, long time to come. Everyone has their view on who should be at the top of the list with a handful of contenders popping up more often than others, with the main four from the UFC being Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre, Jon Jones and Khabib Nurmagomedov – although an argument could certainly be made for Demetrious Johnson, too.

Nate Diaz has responded to UFC president Dana White noting that he’s only won one fight in the last five or six years. As time goes on, it seems less and less likely that Nate Diaz will actually fight again for the UFC. The back and forth between the two parties has been well documented and as we look ahead to the future, it’s difficult to see any kind of definitive resolution taking place.
