Still Talking? Bethe Correia: ‘Rousey Will Be Dethroned In 2016’
Bethe Correia suffered a devastating knockout loss in her attempt to dethrone Ronda Rousey at this past weekend’s UFC 190 event in Brazil.
It was a tough loss to swallow for the previously undefeated Brazilian, but Correia is already back on her feet and planning a title run for the 2016 year:
“I promise I will fight for the belt next year,” Correia told Combate. “In 2016, I want to write a different story. I want, above all things, to be respected. I want a triumphant return. I won’t accept ending 2016 without an UFC belt on my waist. Everything I want, I get. That will be my battle.”
If “Rowdy” is still the champion when Correia earns a second title shot, she will be even more motivated:
“If she still has the belt next year, I will meet her again. I will get that belt. I think Ronda will be dethroned and I hope I get to do it. Everybody loses at one point.”
