Alan Jouban: I Obviously Didn’t Agree with the Judges…

Alves vs Jouban

There is no beating around the bush: Alan Jouban got robbed in Brazil on Saturday night. Despite getting knocked down in the first round, he rallied back and put on what seemed like a great comeback performance.

He did not threaten to finish the fight in the second or third rounds, but he claimed the center of the octagon and forced Warlley Alves to go wherever he wanted. Jouban dictated the pace of the fight after the first and you could see Alves breathing heavily and suffering.

When the fight went to the judges’ decision, you could see a level of uncertainty on the face of Alan Jouban. When Alves was announced the winner, Jouban simply walked off camera and he was not seen from again until the post fight press conference. The following was transcribed by MMAFighting:

“First off, I didn’t agree with the judges, obviously… I felt like he won the first round. He got the takedown in the second, but I got up and finished strong. The third round was pretty obvious,” Jouban stated. “I gotta go back and look at it, but first thoughts after the fight I was kind of upset with the decision.”

Do you think the judges made the right decision?
