Anderson Silva on failed drug test: I’m not a saint, but I never cheated
Since Anderson Silva has been booked to fight Michael Bisping at UFC Fight Night London on February 27th, his failed drug test has been brought into question once again.
After the announcement of the bout, Bisping took to Twitter to lob a verbal jab at ‘The Spider’, suggesting that he leave the viagra out of this training camp.
On the UFC Fight Night London media conference call, Silva spoke about the failed drug test, saying:
“I committed an error. I’m definitely not a saint. I committed an error. I took a substance that was contaminated,”
“I took a supplement that was contaminated. Inside the octagon, there’s no way to really lie in this sport. I’ve been fighting my whole career and never tested positive,”
“My conscience is clear. I never purposely ever took any banned substance. I made an error by taking a substance that was contaminated, but my conscience is clean. I know that I’ve never cheated.”
