Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis Says He Never Offered To Train Donald Cerrone
Upcoming UFC lightweight title challenger Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone will face off with the champ, Rafael dos Anjos, at UFC on FOX 17 on Dec. 19.
Recently, Cerrone appeared on an episode of UFC commentator Joe Rogan’s podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience.’ Cerrone talked about all kinds of things, both MMA and non MMA related. While talking (and drinking), Cerrone mentioned to Rogan that former champ Anthony Pettis had offered to help train him for the bout with RDA, because of how much he hates him.
“Anthony said, ‘Cowboy, if you need me to come down and train you for dos Anjos, I hate that motherf***er. I’ll be there. I said, ‘Pettis, I might just hit you up on that.'”
Well, that might not actually be true.
According to a report on Wednesday’s UFC Tonight, Pettis says he never told Cerrone that he would train with him or that he hates Dos Anjos. Pettis apparently said that he never offered to do that and he thinks Cerrone took a recent conversation they had out of context and said he would never train with another fighter in his weight class.
