‘Bang’: Dillashaw KOs Cruz Inside 2 Rounds!

TJ Dillashaw has proven he is a force to reckon with in the bantamweight division. The UFC champion has now successfully defended his title twice and the time may come to give Dominick Cruz, a man who never truly lost his title, his opportunity.

If that day comes, Dillashaw’s striking coach Duane “Bang” Ludwig believes the Team Alpha Male standout would have the fight in the bag.

“I want that fight to happen, 100 percent. I think he matches up well,” Ludwig told MMA Fighting. “I see TJ knocking him out within two rounds, stopping the fight within two rounds.”

Ludwig wants the fight to happen, but acknowledges Cruz’s tendency to get injured frequently. If the fight gets booked, he expects Dillashaw to have a backup opponent in case Cruz falls injured again. “He (Cruz) looked great against Mizugaki. He looked phenomenal, then he gets hurt again. But if the fight gets booked, we would have to have another guy on the back burner, as was the case with Aldo vs. McGregor having Chad Mendes.”

Cruz was inactive for the majority of his UFC run only having two fights in four years. He suffered tears in both of his ACLs and was ultimately stripped of his UFC Bantamweight Championship. “But this fight needs to happen because Cruz never lost his title. He was stripped,” Ludwig said. “So, you have to do what is ethically right, and that fight needs to happen anyways because it’s a big fight and to make sure that it’s truly undisputed. Obviously TJ is the champion now, but there is a little bit of gray area now, just because of Cruz.”

Who do you think will pick up the win if they fight? Is Dillashaw diverse enough to outstrike Cruz, or will the former champion win what was taken from him? Share your prediction in the comment section below!
